Dexcom vs Omnipod: What Each Device Is, and How to Decorate Both

People often ask us how a Dexcom and an Omnipod differ. Here is a plain-language overview, then the fun part: how to decorate both. For anything about your care, talk to your healthcare team and follow each device maker's instructions.

What is a Dexcom?

Dexcom makes continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), small wearable sensors. Current models include the Dexcom G7 and the over-the-counter Stelo. Many people still use the Dexcom G6.

What is an Omnipod?

Omnipod, made by Insulet, is a tubeless insulin pump worn as a small pod. Current systems include Omnipod 5 and Omnipod DASH.

Can you use both?

Many people do. Whether and how they work together depends on the specific models, so check with Dexcom, Insulet and your care team.
