How to Apply a Decorative Patch or Sticker to Your Dexcom G7
You picked a design you love. Now you want it to look great on your Dexcom G7 or Stelo. This guide walks through placing a Pump Peelz decorative patch or transmitter sticker, step by step.
One rule comes first: your sensor is applied and worn exactly the way Dexcom tells you to. Follow the instructions that came with your sensor and talk to your care team about sensor placement. A Peelz patch is the decorative layer you add after that, and it is not part of how the sensor is applied or worn.
What you need
- Your Pump Peelz decorative patch or sticker, cut for the Dexcom G7 and Stelo
- Clean, dry hands
- About two minutes
Placing a decorative patch
- Check the fit. Hold the patch over your sensor before you peel anything. The center opening lines up with the sensor so the design frames it.
- Peel the center section first (if your patch has a split backing). Use the opening as your guide for positioning.
- Smooth from the center outward. Work toward the edges with your fingertip so the design lies flat with no bubbles or wrinkles.
- Remove the remaining backing one section at a time, smoothing as you go.
- Admire it. Snap a photo and tag us. We love seeing your designs out in the world.
Placing a transmitter sticker
Transmitter stickers are thin, die-cut pieces sized to the top of the device. Line up one edge, lay the sticker down gently, then press from the middle out. Keep stickers off any area your device maker tells you to leave uncovered.
Removing it
Patches are single use. When it is time to change your sensor, peel the patch off slowly, low and slow along the skin. Remove the patch sooner if you notice any irritation. Then and follow Dexcom's instructions for removing the sensor itself.
